![]() What distinguishes then the Cartier Calibre de Cartier Diver from any other Water Resistant timepiece in this sector?Ī Water Resistant timepiece is, in a nutshell, tested with air and a production batch is usually spot checked, while with an ISO 6425 certified one, just to cite a few, all the production batch is fully checked, each wristwatch is tested at a 125% of the rated maximum depth (300m in this case) and for an extended period of time in water. This certification is not so rare in watchmaking, at least outside Europe as you may easily verify that nearly all the Japanese sport watches usually boast the lettering “ Diver’s” in replacement of the “ Water Resistant” one on the dial or on their tech sheet. The Cartier Calibre de Cartier Diver is an ISO 6425 compliant professional diver’s watch. It was anyway quite clear to me to be honest, as I’m not a consummate blogger but rather come from the Durable Consumer Goods sector: all the brands of the Richemont Group’s portfolio are independent and even if they share some technologies and parts, each follows its own product strategy, in compliance with its tradition and brand identity. For more information, please visit last january we introduced some of the novelties unveiled at the SIHH, we previewed the most interesting timepieces from the Richemont Group among which the most unexpected was and has been, for more than a reason, the Cartier Calibre de Cartier Diver.Įverybody, press journalists as well as watch enthusiasts, were wondering why Cartier and only Cartier, had launched a professional diver’s watch and by that I mean an ISO compliant one. Availability starts in June 2023 and all come with a special wooden presentation box and impressive 10-year warranty (with MyOris sign-up). That’s not a bad price for an in-house Swiss pro diver and a limited edition one to boot. The new Oris Hölstein Edition 2023 is limited to 250 pieces, which is tradition for all of the anniversary special editions, and retails for CHF 4,000. It has 21 jewels and beats at 28,800vph (4Hz) with functions including central hours, minutes and hacking seconds (and date not utilized in this piece). The in-house developed movement has several advantages, including more than 30 anti-magnetic parts (exceeding the ISO 764 anti-magnetic standard), a five-day power reserve via twin barrels and accuracy within COSC standards (-3/+5 seconds per day). Powering the Oris Hölstein Edition 2023 is the Calibre 400 automatic, which partially replaced the Sellita SW200 models (both versions are available). Bold applied indices have Super-LumiNova for nighttime legibility, as do the hour and minute hands, which are common to the Aquis series. ![]() Studer says that Hölstein Editions are meant as celebrations for Oris fans (and collectors). These special editions don’t necessarily signal future models, however, so this no-date model is likely a one-off for now. ![]() According to Oris CEO Rolf Studer, fans of the brand and particularly those from the Oris Social Club network (OSC) have frequently requested a purple dial and no date Aquis. This one has a deep sunray purple dial and drops the date at 6 o’clock, both of which are unique to the Aquis line. Unlike the prior three Hölstein Editions, the fourth watch is a simpler design that mainly focuses on dial changes.
